1. Always be ready; you never know when the winds will change.
2. A song is a good companion.
3. Women warm your heart; children light the sky.
4. Embrace change -- it is the only way to make it safely to shore.
5. Spirits are real; they speak through the bright lights shining from the stars.
6. Never stuff a pig in a square box.
7. Old ways are good ways; when they were first good young.
8. Eliminate confict from your life; whistle.
9. Doors are locked for a reason.
10. The soul needs water to grow tall.
11. A tub of lard makes a slippery bed.
12. Fish see more than we think.
13. A sailor's chest is filled with gold.
Captain Jack (and I'm not talking Johnny Depp) is one of our "new friends" here on Vancouver Island. I wrote these down as I heard them spoken . . . there is wisdom here, somewhere :)
For sure, I will remember the sage advice about pigs and square boxes for many a day.
